Richard B. Cheney is an accomplished American businessman, public servant and politician. Cheney, a well-known face on the scene of Washington politics has worked with four presidents of the US. George W. Bush is the fourth. Bush selected Cheney in July 2000 as his running mate, noting his judgment and insight. Dick Cheney is a former chief of staff to presidents, and he also worked in Congress and as secretary of defense. He's a man of integrity who is respected by Republicans and Democrats. Cheney stated that he views his position within of the Bush administration as one of a candid and discreet adviser. Cheney declared that when he accepted the Republican nomination to vice-president Cheney was looking forward to being a part of a team that will work across political lines and also with rival political parties and in good faith, with common goal. Richard Bruce Cheney was born in Lincoln Nebraska on January 30 1941. He was the son Richard Herbert Cheney and the former Marjorie Lauraine Dickey. He moved in Casper, Wyoming with his family when he reached the age of 13. His dad, who worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture was the director of the conservation district of Casper.
